Mark White brings nearly three decades of professional experience working with youth and families to his role as Clinical Director. Mark believes deeply in the model of integrated healthcare and rites of passage work provided by Pacific Quest. He practices as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Hawaii).  In addition to his extensive clinical background, Mark served as Director of Clinical Quality for an integrated healthcare agency.

Mark also holds a master’s degree in school counseling and has a breadth of professional experience as a teacher, school counselor, and head of school. Mark was part of a research team studying resiliency factors in youth at boarding schools and college residence life settings and also served as Executive Clinical Director for a leading young adult transition program.  Mark holds a deep sense of learning styles, learning differences, and student engagement strategies to skillfully help young adults effectively utilize their learning preferences to advance their personal growth.

Mark is dedicated to supporting youth in their recovery from behavioral health issues including anxiety, depression, isolation, and problems related to process addiction. Mark utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches that include a solution-focused framework, Jungian depth psychology, rites of passage, Horticultural Therapy (HT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Mark is a Level II trained practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and is also developing Sandplay as part of his clinical practice.

Mark believes Pacific Quest combines innovative best practices and evidence-based standards to a degree of quality that is virtually unmatched. Mark is honored for the opportunity to promote and facilitate change in the lives of clients and families accessing care at Pacific Quest.  He first joined the team in 2017.

Mark enjoys being on the ocean, learning, teaching and growing food. When he’s not in the garden working with students, he is exploring the beauty and dynamic landscape of Hawaii Island along with his family.
