Melissa Harmeling

Family Intensive & Academic Coordinator

Melissa Harmeling brings over 20 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families across Hawaiʻi Island. With a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a background in case management, assessment, and community-based programs, she is passionate about helping families navigate challenges and build meaningful connections.

Melissa is especially drawn to work that FOCUSES ON relationships, collaboration, and whole-person support. She partners closely with families, schools, and community organizations to connect people with resources and create opportunities for engagement and growth. She strives to create a warm, supportive space where people feel seen, heard, and respected, and approaches her work with care and cultural awareness.

Melissa has been part of the East Hawaiʻi community for over 20 years and deeply values the relationships and connections she has built here. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, surfing, reading, and camping with her family.
