Mind and Body
The Mind and Body connection is how the physical body responds to the way one thinks, feels and acts just as what you feel physically can affect your emotions and moods. At Pacific Quest, we teach our students to pay close attention to their physical health, including posture, body language, energy level, and breathing patterns. We help create a sense of awareness so that sources of stress, anxiety, sadness, anger, or agitation may be identified and addressed.
Students learn to pay close attention to their emotions, asking themselves: how am I feeling, am I expressing my emotions, am I moving through the emotions, or keeping them bottled up? The mind-body connection is about body awareness and the physical manifestations of the intangible mind and emotions. The Wellness, Clinical and Horticultural Therapy departments work together to educate the students how to use mind-body awareness tools to effectively manage stress and emotions.
