Crystalee was born in Kailua-Kona, where she grew up playing soccer for American Youth Soccer Organization. She has competed in many soccer tournaments on Oahu and the Big Island. When she moved to Ka’u in 2001, she brought her enthusiasm and passion for the game to coaching high school soccer. In 2010, she restarted Ka’u AYSO league as the regional commissioner. She came to Pacific Quest because she believes in the program and what it offers young people. When Crystalee assists with transports, she sees the students in their first hours on the island, often serving as their first contact with Pacific Quest.
Crystalee’s favorite part of her job is getting to support the students through their transition in the very beginning, and seeing the transformation and triumph in the students as she transports them towards their next stage of life at the end. Her humor and charisma shines when she is around the students and when leading her team of transporters and Logistics Coordinators. As a member of the Ka’u community, she has recently found opportunities to involve students in cultural events, giving the students a sense of importance and belonging in the community.
