Ben Kramer, B.A.
Ben graduated from California State University, San Marcos with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science focusing on Middle Eastern studies and humanitarian relief. It was through his studies that he became passionate about improving the quality of life for those in need of assistance.
Ben first arrived at Pacific Quest in early 2015, coming from three and a half years of service with the United States Peace Corps in Senegal (West Africa) as an Agroforestry Extension Agent and as an Agroforestry instructor for new incoming Peace Corps trainees. He has been able to share his passion for agriculture with both students and staff alike, building upon the wealth of knowledge that Pacific Quest has to offer.
In early 2016, after achieving the role of Facilitator, Ben took time away from Pacific Quest to travel to New Zealand, Australia, and eventually went back to West Africa for another term of service with the Peace Corps as an instructor at an agricultural university in Guinea. After returning in March 2017, he spent some time visiting with family in California and working in Metro Detroit before eventually making his way back to the Big Island and Pacific Quest.
When not at work Ben can be found either helping out on a farm up the Hamakua coast, hiking the rugged trails of the Big Island, or snorkeling with sea turtles.
