Cynthia brings a wealth of experience to her position at Pacific Quest. A dance professional for over 2 decades, Cynthia developed an artistic voice as well as a business regimen through diverse experiences that spanned much of the U.S. Highlights of her work as a dancer, director, choreographer, costume designer and grant-writer include teaching at University of Idaho, Pacific Lutheran University, staging of works for Spokane Ballet, Spectrum Dance Theater and Bumbershoot Arts Festival in Seattle.
In 1992, with spouse, Daniel and son, Christopher, Hawaii Island became home. She served at YWCA of Hawaii Island as director of health promotions services from 1993-2004, and as its executive director from 2004-2009. Cynthia continued to teach and create choreography touching the lives of youngsters, teens and adults alike. She co-produced emerging musicians in live performance throughout the island, honing skills in marketing, mosh-pits and “roadie.”
She is an avid gardener and lover of the outdoors. Other joys include animal welfare (the Albers’ claim a feral cat colony and several rescued dogs as four-legged family) and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada annually since 2010. As the Admissions Coordinator, Cynthia’s penchant for organization and detail make for a smooth flow of the program processes. Always looking for ways to increase efficiency, accuracy and everyone’s enjoyment of time spent on the job, Cynthia is thrilled to be part of Pacific Quest.
